Cat Comfort in Cars

Keeping your cat comfortable in the car during a journey is key to a successful trip. Start by making the carrier feel like a safe space by placing familiar items inside, such as a blanket or toy. Choose a carrier that is the right size—large enough for your cat to move comfortably, but not so big that they feel unprotected. Position the carrier in the car securely, either by using a seatbelt or placing it on the floor of the back seat to minimize movement. Maintaining the right temperature in the car is also important, as cats are sensitive to both heat and cold. If possible, keep the car calm and quiet, avoiding loud music or other noises that could increase stress. Providing water during breaks and allowing your cat to stretch a little outside the car, if safe, can also improve their comfort.
