Cockatiel bath

Cockatiels, like most birds, enjoy a regular bath to maintain healthy feathers and skin. Offering your cockatiel a bath is essential for keeping their feathers clean and free from dust. Many cockatiels enjoy bathing in shallow dishes of lukewarm water, while others may prefer misting with a spray bottle. It’s important to observe your bird’s preferences and make the experience enjoyable.

Bathing not only helps with cleanliness but also promotes better feather condition and can soothe irritated skin, especially during molting. Provide a shallow dish no more than an inch deep and ensure the water is room temperature. You can offer the bath a few times a week or whenever your cockatiel shows interest. Some cockatiels will also bathe when you lightly mist them with water, mimicking rain.
