Pet Layover Care

During layovers, your pet’s care is just as important as during the actual travel. First, ensure your pet has access to a pet-friendly area where they can walk and relieve themselves. Many airports and train stations now have designated pet relief areas, which are perfect for these breaks.

Hydration is another key factor in pet layover care. Offer your pet water at regular intervals, especially if the layover lasts several hours. This will help prevent dehydration, especially in warmer environments. Light snacks are also helpful, though it’s important not to overfeed to avoid discomfort or motion sickness.

To minimize stress, provide familiar items such as toys or blankets to help your pet feel secure during the layover. If possible, allow your pet some exercise to release pent-up energy, helping them feel more relaxed once the journey continues.
